First McCoy Visit of 2007 / Adam Up & Down

First, we continue withe our coverage of our home-base team, and the community in which our relationship with Adam was established: the Pawtucket Red Sox. On April 14, 2007, an executive member attended the PawSox's second home game of the 2007 season against the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Yankees. Unfortunately, because only one executive member was able to attend, it was not an official Fans outing. The member was particularly interested in seeing some of Adam's teammates from last year, including David Murphy aka Murphdog and Jeff Bailey aka Jefferoni. Although the PawSox were defeated, many pictures were captured. Click on the pictures below for more photos.

Jeff Bailey reached on an error and later scored. Here he is on third:

After the game, the member was able to talk with Rick for a minute. He recognized the fan shirt, shook the hand of the Fans representative, and immediately volunteered an update. He explained that he had just talked to Adam, and he was doing well but itching to get back on a major league team. Thanks Rick!

We also waited for Murphdog after the game. He didn't have any family with him, so we approached him. We joke about his jealousy and how speaking to him is "cheating on Adam," but we needed the inside scoop on our main man. Murph, a man of few words, was nice enough to volunteer that he hasn't talked to Adam since seeing him in Spring Training. So no big news there, but as David continued on signing, including for a lot of kids -- you couldn't help but think what a gracious guy he is. Thanks to McCoy for starting off 2007 amazingly, and again to Rick and David Murphy.

In Adam news, Sterny was called up to the Orioles on Monday as Corey Patterson was placed on bereavement leave due to the death of his grandfather. Earlier this afternoon, Patterson was taken off leave and Adam was assigned back to Triple-A Norfolk. Our thoughts of course are with the Patterson family.

We're with Adam.
